SAFA KHAN

I am interested in pursuing a masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology.  When I was growing up, I always dreamed of becoming a doctor, like my parents, but my focus shifted slightly once I reached high school.  I gained an interest in the field after a semester-long internship with Dr. Ed Colvin at Pediatric Cardiology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, during which I familiarized myself with the therapies children with developmental delays may receive.  Dr. Colvin inspired me to discover my passions and constantly challenge myself to grow as both a person and a student.  I believe speech pathology would suit my strengths and personality, especially considering my empathy, problem-solving skills, and love of communication.
